Matt Hodge and I competed in the Biker Build Off in 2006. I raced Experimental - 128 mph on the timed trial and have been back every year since.
There's a lot of waiting out on the sand and once you're in line you cant really leave. The wind gets dangerous so the conditions have to be perfect which can mean more waiting. It takes a certain kind of person to spend time out there. You end up meeting some really interesting people.
There's a huge variety of bikes and machines out there. Thats what I love about it. I dont always have time to build a full custom bike but I try to take something down every year.
